Bad Durkheim is the oldest, largest wein (wine) fest in the world. It tries to kill you. By serving your wein (wine) in half liter glasses (aka pint glasses). Well, you can (and I did) purchase weinschorle. They add a little sparkling water to the top of the glass. Otherwise, it is a normal, happy, fun fest. I managed to eat a pork sandwich, mini donuts, a fest chicken, and chocolate covered strawberries. In between all my glasses of wine. I drank 4 pints. As you can imagine, I fell asleep on the train ride home. Thankfully, Ryan, my favorite DC friend that moved Germany, did not.
Bad Durkheim is near the Kaiserslautern area. Which has lots of Americans stationed there. So there were lots of Americans there. Sadly, they are not all well behaved. I assume this because there are American MPs patrolling with the Germans. So they can just cart them away as they get drunk and cause trouble.
