I took some pictures of cars. But, if you are a faithful follower, you will remember last summer, there was a car event in Stuttgart Mitte (center) and I took tons of car pictures there. Today I learned more about the history of Porsche and racing cars, well racing Porsches.
Guess who invented the Beetle Bug Volkswagen? That's right -Ferdinand Porsche. His son, Ferry went on to develop his own car because the ones out there were not his dream car. On to my dream car. I would look exceptional behind the wheel of this Porsche *:

This car can drive fast enough that it could drive on the ceiling. Right now it's just rigged to be on the ceiling.
I found the cut away cars most interesting. (It's kinda hard to get a good picture since it's in glass.)
I also liked the frame portions taken off the car so you could see inside.
More after the jump...My favorite race car is the Pink Pig (also the most popular one-go figure):
Other race cars:
The museum allows you the opportunity to sit in a Porsche. Like all the 7-12 year olds there, I took a turn. I had to maneuver in line to keep those kids from cutting. I was born to drive a Porsche. Now if my bank account matched my ambition. ha ha This car would be over $100,000.
One of the first cars you see as you start the museum tour. It has a front suicide door. The front and back door share a hinge. I also like the color and style.
You too can see tons of Porsches when you visit Stuttgart. Just sayin'...

Way to hold your ground with the kiddies.

ReplyDeleteMaybe this should be my Germany "souvenir". Ha ha
DeleteI so agree you were born to drive a Porche, in fact I remember saying those exact words in the hospital after your birth "this beautiful little girl will someday drive a red porche", in fact I have always thought I too would drive a red sports car or at least be a passenger in one. See that's the difference between us I would be just as happy to be the passenger, lol. Just want to mention all those years in DC got you ready for all the traveling in Europe. I love you, xoxoxo mommy
